This weekend has been busy busy, but so much fun. If you haven’t heard, I am spending a 3-day weekend visiting Heather. A few highlights thus far:

With a fantastic performance, the Badgers beat Ohio State on Saturday. GO BADGERS!

As it turns out, when Heather and I go to a craft store together, we spend a LOT more time there than we anticipated. Seriously.

Since I was in the area, we decided that it was the perfect weekend for a NY Capital District blogger meet-up. After a delicious breakfast on Sunday, we headed out to Ellms farm and corn maze. I loved the Wizard of Oz theme–songs from the movie were playing throughout the maze.

There is a lot of crafting going on over here for Handmade Christmas. My first project? Jungle-themed blocks for Dan’s 2-year-old nephew. There is a letter from his name on each block, and I’m thinking of adding numbers as well. They are pretty adorable, if I may say so myself.

You and Heather need to team up and open a craft store.

I absolutely LOVE those blocks! I have two nieces who have just about everything in the world, so this would a great handmade gift. Did you use wooden blocks or another material?

Lindsey –

we used wooden blocks from the craft store for the blocks – there will be a tutorial how-to by Julie on my blog in the next week or two on how to make these :)
