As you’ve probably noticed, Savvy Eats got a major face-lift last night (if you are reading in a RSS reader or your email, you’ll need to click over to the site to see the changes).
Possibly my favorite part of the redesign is the new logo, which was inspired by my most-used piece of cookware: my cast iron skillet. To celebrate the site’s new look, Lodge Cast Iron has generously offered to send you two of my favorite cast iron pieces. I love cast iron because it is sturdy, cooks evenly and lasts forever…my Dutch oven and my griddle are both over 70 years old and in beautiful condition!

I too love cast iron, but I can’t afford a Lodge pan…and I neglected to register for one for my wedding last summer. My favorite piece of cookware is this nonstick, metal-handled skillet my mom bought me on clearance — it’s great for making eggs, grilled cheese, fritattas, sauteed veg, etc. I probably wash it five times a week.
I also love, love, love the new look. It’s so “you” and absolutely adorable! Great work!
I love cast iron!!! I’ve also never owned one, but it is something that I’ve been meaning to the collection. I don’t know much about cookware, but I will say that I love my cooking pots because of the story behind them. My grandfather picked out a set of pots for me for college graduation. Sadly he passed away before he could actually present me the pots himself. Every time I use them I think of him, and the times we had together.
I love the new look! Cast iron is so nice for cooking, I have one that we use at least 2x a week but it is a bit small and hard to cook meat in it.
I love cast iron because it can easily go from stove top to oven! The fact that it lasts forever is a great bonus too!

I love cast iron. I have 3 cast iron pans I use all the time, but my favorite is my mother’s old ceramic coated Kopco cast iron. I use this pan for eggs, crepes, everything that needs “non-stick” pans. If I ever lose this pan I will be lost.
I LOVE CAST IRON! My favorite piece of cookware is definitely my skillet/griddle because I can “grill” in the winter when the ground is covered in snow!

So pretty! I’ve never used cast iron myself, so I LOVE CAST IRON because it’s new. My favorite piece of cookware is my big stockpot for preparing large batches of stew, etc for the week.

I am loving that grill pan. I don’t have anything like that and just seeing it made my cooking heart ripe with possibilities. My favorite piece of cookware is my cast iron skillet.. it’s huge, and I love making steaks and big crusty pizzas in it. Yum!

It’s not quiiite my favorite cookware (yet)…I love my bright red “chai pot” most of all–it was specifically given to help me make my personal blend of fresh chai, but I use it for everything

I LOVE CAST IRON! My favorite piece of cookware is my nonstick skillet. I didn’t think I would use it nearly as much as I do, but it’s perfect for cooking everything from eggs and pancakes to chicken and veggies.
I LOVE CAST IRON!!!!! My favorite is my 10 quart stockpot. I loved my non-stick griddle till the handle fell off, it was cheap and over a decade old, so a new cast iron one would be awesome!

Ever since I was a kid I heard how great cast-iron was. My husband’s grandmother gave us an old cast-iron pan which cooks corncread beautifully and now I love cast-iron!! It’d be great to get new cast-iron pans

I really like cast iron skillets, both my mother & grandmother always had them to use. My mother who passed at 95
give me hers. They were lost when we moved back to the west coast from Cape Cod when I retired in 2003.
I never very well both my mother & grandmother always seasoned their cast iron & so did I. NEVER USE SOAP ON
THEM TO CLEAN. I would be delighted to be drawn as a winner. Now that I’m cooking again after neck surgery on

I love cast iron. I have a grill pan, but that’s it so far. My favorite pans are actually my mom’s, which I think might be older than she is!.
I LOVE CAST IRON!! I tried to put a cast-iron skillet on my wedding registry, but it wouldn’t let me because it was out of stock online! I was so sad…. I really want to try making cornbread in one of these. For now, I guess my favorite cookware is my medium saucepan… I do a lot with that.
