A Very Merry Christmas

I hope all of you (who celebrate Christmas) had a wonderful holiday! If you don’t celebrate, then I hope you had a happy Friday!

Today was filled with lots of family time

seeing Sherlock Holmes (per our Christmas tradition of seeing a movie together),

and great gifts!

A Starbucks red mug from my sister. Now I can pretend that I’m at Starbucks from the comfort of home!

A Harry Potter 20-questions game from my cousin, Patt. My mom’s family is too big for everyone to buy gifts for everybody, so we draw names. This year, every gift had to fall under the theme “Entertainment.”

A cookbook of Northwestern cuisine. In case you can’t read the inscription, it says:
“Julie – Hope you enjoy exploring Northwest cuisine with this book.
Dan – Hope you enjoy eating food Julie cooks from this book.
Merry Christmas, Josh”

The book is beautiful, and has lots of great-looking recipes!

A Cuisinart mini-prep food processor! I have been wanting a food processor for AGES so that I can make my own hummus, nut butter, etc. I’m so excited to finally have one!

IMG_0886.JPG
A super-cute apron. Now I can stop getting my shirts dirty whenever I bake! And did I mention that it’s super-cute?

An itty-bitty mixing bowl and whisk. My mom picked this up on her annual trip with her mom and sisters, and I love it! See how it even has a little spout to make pouring easier?

Framed photos of my grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary. One of just them, and one of the whole family!

IMG_0893.JPG
A copy of the Creative Memories book my aunts made about my grandparents’ first 60 years together.

A beautiful quilt my mom made for my and Dan’s new apartment in Ithaca!

Our annual Christmas ornaments. My granpa makes us new ornaments in his shop every year, and Dan got his very first one today! His is the one with the baseball hat, mine is the one with the top hat. Aren’t they pretty?

And finally, some “buy-some-new-furniture” money.

I feel so blessed to have been able to spend some quality time with the family, and to have received so many foodie and family-oriented gifts.

I hope you all had as wonderful a holiday as I did!

You will love the food processor–that was one of the things I bought with our wedding gift cards. Have fun making all sorts of goodies!
