Spending the weekend with Dan was fantastic. I’m so glad we didn’t have to go the full 2 1/2 months without seeing each other, as originally planned. I flew in early evening Friday, and left Sunday night.
The only downside? My bag didn’t make it to Ithaca until the very end of the trip. Due to being on a smaller plane, we had to gate-check our bags in Madison. Somehow, mine never actually made it on the plane! Luckily I already had some shampoo, face wash, and a toothbrush at the Ithaca apartment!
Look who I found in the kitchen on Saturday morning…
Hi, Dan! I’ve missed you!
I usually do all the cooking, but Dan made us a pretty fantastic breakfast!
Eggs with beans, veggies, and salsa (Hello, blurry action shot!)
Hash browns.
Mix it all together and sprinkle with cheese. Delicious and filling! We each had a piece of toast on the side.
And, no. I didn’t eat that entire huge plate. Dan finished it off for me!
We largely spent the day wandering Ithaca and the Farmer’s Market, then cuddling and watching Seinfeld DVDs. And of course, making a quick trip to the mall so that I could have clean clothes for the weekend!
I made us a special Valentine’s Day dinner. A day early, because I’d be on a plane around dinnertime on Valentine’s Day!
Creamy carrot risotto,
With lightly sauteed sweet peas. (Sorry, don’t know what happened to this picture. That bowl is actually light green, and the peas did not have a pink tinge to them!)
And around midnight, I FINALLY got my bag back! Even though my trip was almost over, it was nice to have it back. Especially because otherwise it would have gotten to Ithaca after I left, and would have had to be sent back to Madison. Aka, more hassle to deal with!
Despite the fact that my bag was missing for most of my trip, I was so excited to see Dan that I hardly cared. I’m still all smiles thinking about our weekend together. Can’t wait for the end of March, when I’ll see him again!
And I just realized, I never showed you pictures of our mostly-unpacked Ithaca apartment! Don’t mind the boxes that are still floating around. We need to get some bookshelves and other furniture so that we have a place to put everything!
Living Room: (Look how great the quilt my mom made us matches the new couch!)

Kitchen! Seriously in love with this kitchen.
Not shown: Entryway, “Half-Bedroom” and our two porches.
