Book Review: Ape House

Remember how one of my 101 in 1001 goals is to read 101 books? Well, seeing as I just finished my 9th book, I don’t think it is going to take me all 1001 days to finish.

Of the 9 books I’ve read so far, there have been some hits and some definite misses. But among all the hits, none of them have been worthy of my 5-star rating. Until this week.

Go pick up Sara Gruen’s newest book, Ape House. Especially if you enjoyed her previous book, Water for Elephants.

I just couldn’t put this book down. From Isabel’s interactions with the bonobos to everyone’s fascination with reality TV, I came to really identify with and care about all of the characters, including the apes.

I can’t recommend Ape House highly enough. I’m picky with which novels get granted my 5-star rating, but this book definitely deserves it!

Hey Julie! I don’t know if need any book suggestions, but I really enjoyed the book “The Art of Racing in the Rain.” It’s a story told from a dog’s perspective and I couldn’t put it down. Happy reading!
