Savvy Cycling: Bike Safety

Now that the weather is warming up again, it is time to break out the bikes and get riding!  Here are my top 9 tips for safe cycling: 1. Wear a helmet. Even if you think they don’t look “cool” or whatever, wear one anyways. Because even if you are aware of your surroundings and riding [...]

My Top Seven Podcasts for Working Out

I joined a gym a few weeks ago. I adored, loved, was head-over-heels in love with my Pilates studio, butthere were only a few set times I could go to class every week.  If I had a doctor’s appointment or felt too sick or had a conference call or was just on a roll and [...]

Trainer Solution

A few months back, I asked for your advice on making my indoor workouts more interesting. I have a trainer that allows me to ride my bike inside during the winter months, but it can get so boring. I’m dreaming of the day it is warm enough to bike outside again!

Then, I finally found my solution: reading while cycling. I put a towel over my handlebars (and therefore covering the bike computer that tells me my time and mileage), and put my book on top of the towel. Reading captures my attention a lot more than TV does, and it helps me towards my “read 101 books in 1001 days” goal!
