I finally, finally did it. I changed the name on my bank account to my married name.
And then I received a credit card with a misspelled last name.
I’m still crossing this one off the list, because I’m in the process of getting a correctly spelled credit card.

Woo hoo! Congrats
. All the name changing is really time consuming. My student loans still have my maiden name but since I can pay them regardless I’m okay with that.
so exciting!!
i just did that a week or two ago and it took me OVER AND HOUR at the bank! if i had known it would be such a pain, i probably would have pushed it off for longer than i did.
Thanks for the reminder–I still need to change the name on my loans. And I’ve been married over 2 years! I wouldn’t care, expect loan-related mail isn’t getting to me because my old last name confuses the mail man.

Eh… I read the blog and thought woo hoo! Credit cards. And then I read the comments. Oh that reminder that interest is climbing on those darn student loans… and repayment is in the near future. *gulp*

Ah, the fun of name changes. I haven’t changed my name with one of my banks because if I do, they’ll realise I don’t live in Germany any more… it’s a pain in the neck but just get it out of the way because it’s SUPER CONFUSING to have a few different names floating about.

Good to know I am not the only one living a dual lifestyle. Name changing did not happen as fast as I thought it would.
