Four Podcasts You Should Download This Weekend

You know how most people listen to music while they work out, walk the dog and clean the house? I’m not one of those people.

Nope. I’m a podcast person. I listen to podcasts on a daily basis, whether I’m walking to the co-op, baking, editing photos, doing the dishes, or driving. For some reason, I find podcasts to be much more engaging.

Don’t get me wrong, I still listen to music on occasion, but 9 times out of 10, if you see me with my headphones in, I’m listening to a podcast.

Here are my top four favorite podcasts, the ones I never miss. I highly suggest you download a few and listen to them this weekend.

My Top Four Podcasts

Smartest Man in the World. This is my favorite. I mean, my absolute favorite. I do a little happy dance whenever iTunes tells me there is a new episode. Greg Proops (whom you probably know from Whose Line is it Anyways?) comments on current events and pop culture, answers FAQs from other sites and answers audience questions in his stand-up routine and podcast. I’d recommend an episode for you to start with, but I can’t choose just one. Just listen to them all.

Joy the Baker. The ever-popular Joy is joined by Tracy of Shutterbean in this podcast, where they discuss blogging, the stories they share on their blog, food and photography. There have only been two episodes so far, but I can’t wait for the next one!

Dishin in the Kitchen. Host Mac Ledesma interviews your favorite food bloggers like Rachael of La Fuji Mama, Kim of Rustic Garden Bistro and Paula of Bell’alimento. It is so fun to hear the bloggers’ ‘real voices’ and what they have to say outside of their blogs.

Stuff Mom Never Told You. With topics such as “When did beer become a boy’s drink?” and “The inside scoop on lady reporters,” I never fail to find this podcast captivating. Most episodes are less than 20 minutes long, so they are short and sweet, the perfect length for cleaning the kitchen or walking the dog.

What are your favorite podcasts?

Some others that I love but didn’t quite make the cut are: Food Network Humor (the only reason this one didn’t make the list is that there hasn’t been a new episode since January), Stuff You Missed in History Class, Savage Love, and Two Fit Chicks and a Microphone.

Happy long weekend!

This post was inspired by Heather’s post about her favorite podcasts.

No, but I will download those now! Listened to Raspberries and Chops so far, Raspberries was the first and it hooked me. Raspberry dawns…lol.

Its a different focus for sure, but my favorite current podcast is Techzing. It’s a tech podcast focused on the journey of two developers trying to bootstrap their own business’.

Although now I am interested in checking out the Greg Proops show!
