Sometimes, a plain soft pretzel is all you need. Especially when they are fresh from the oven.

Sometimes, a plain soft pretzel dipped into the last of a bowl of soup is perfection.

And sometimes, you just need something delicious to dip your pretzel into. Something like this garlic cheddar dip.

Garlic Cheddar Soft Pretzel Dip

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cup cheddar
1 tablespoon Garlic Gold nuggets or 2 teaspoons garlic powder
Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour, stirring constantly.

Whisk in the milk. Cover and bring to a simmer.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cheese, garlic and pepper flakes until the cheese is completely melted. Serve with fresh soft pretzels!

I could eat a whole load of that dip…especially with soft pretzels. You could outdo any of those shops in the mall.

Hey Julie. This dip looks so good, I can taste it already. Maybe it wasn’t smart of me to find your blog when I was hungry. :D I’ll put your cheddar soft pretzel dip on my “have to make this week” list.
