Happy Birthday Dan!

Tomorrow, our table will be filled with turkey, stuffing, glazed carrots and potatoes. Tonight, it will be covered in a birthday celebration dinner.

Today is the 24th, and Dan is turning 24. It is his golden birthday!

Tonight, we’ll celebrate with spinach enchiladas from the Bluephies’ cookbook, roasted peppers, chips and salsa, and applesauce spice cake.

It took forever to decide on that cake. Have I ever mentioned how long it takes for my husband and I to make decisions?

The cake discussion went something like this:

Me: “What kind of cake do you want for your birthday?”

Dan: “I don’t know.”

Me: “Okay, do you something in the pie category, cheesecake or an actual cake?”

Dan: “Um…”

Me: “Well, we’ll be having pie on Thursday for Thanksgiving.”

Dan: “Okay, no pie.”

Me: “Cheesecake or cake?”

Dan: “Yes, one of those two.”

Me: “But which one?”

Dan: “Whatever you want to make.”

Me: “But its your birthday.”

Dan: “No it isn’t, my birthday isn’t until Wednesday” (he’s a sneaky one, that boy)

Me: “Fine, it is your birthday cake, and we’ll be eating it on your birthday. Now which one?”

I’m not going to type out the entire conversation, but suffice it to say this went on for awhile. And this conversation isn’t atypical for us.

But no matter how many minutes we spend deciding which gloves to buy, no matter how many times we debate where to go to dinner, and no matter how long it takes to decide on which type of cheese to get, I didn’t have to think for even a second when you asked me to spend the rest of my life with you.

Happy birthday Dan! Nearly 6 months later, I still get chills when I think of you as my husband. Love you!

Y’all are just SO cute! I love seeing the wedding pics again. I think as newlyweds, we have the right to post them as many times as we want, right? :) Keep em coming!

Hey Dan!

I thought about sending you the old couch with the broken leg for your birthday… since I know how much you loved it ;) . But than I surmised that you had already analyzed the properties of the metals and why it had failed already, so the fun part of the couch was already realized. :)

Hope you have the bestest birthday ever! I know you’ll have the best birthday meal ever because Jules is a genius in the kitchen. And… just the mention of Bluephies makes my mouth water. It’d be hard to make it better than Bluephies, but I’m sure Jules will pull it off. If there’s leftovers send some my way! ;)

Haha

Love and miss you guys bunches!

what a lovely post! (and such gorgeous pictures)

my boyfriend and i are exactly the same when it comes to making choices. i sometimes wish that one of us could be decisive because that would make our lives a little easier (fewer back and forth conversations with “but what about this? how about that? or this? but that?” but i wouldn’t trade him for anything ;-)

happy thanksgiving!
