I’m Baaaaack!

Hello, friends! I’m back from Florida, and am now visiting my parents and sister in Minnesota. Here’s a quick recap of Florida for you!  Oh, and don’t forget to let Dan know if there are any biking or other questions you’d like him to answer in future guest posts!

Kelley, Amanda and I arrived in Florida first, and were so excited to see Jen!

The next morning, we made a quick trip to the Half Marathon Expo, and then I was off to Pizza Fusion for a fun blogger lunch! Thanks, Caitlin and Ryan,  for picking us up at the Expo!

I LOVED Pizza Fusion! Everything was eco-friendly, and all of the ingredients were organic. Not to mention, everything was delicious!

We were the first ones there, and everyone was hungry, so a vegan bruschetta salad was ordered for the table to hold us over. We actually thought we were getting vegan bruschetta, but we still enjoyed the salad! I was especially impressed by the soy cheese, since I had never had it before.

Neither Caitlin nor I could decide which personal-sized pizza to order, so we decided to share two of the vegetarian pizzas.

Pizza #1: Spinach and Artichoke. From the menu: Sauteed spinach, roasted artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan.

Pizza #2: Farmer’s Market. From the menu: A farmer’s medley of roasted artichoke hearts, red onion, roasted zucchini and roasted portobello with tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan.

And what better way to end a blogger lunch than with some delicious vegan treats?

Ryan brought us some amazing, melt-in-your-mouth macaroons. If you ever decide to sell these, Ryan, I would definitely buy them!

And Lindsey brought us some of her famous, top-secret-recipe chocolate chip cookies, as well as some no-sugar-added cookies. I now see why she keeps the recipe top-secret; they are just that good!

Then we all piled into Meghann and Caitlin’s Chevy Traverses. Don’t worry, Katy and Lindsey didn’t actually sit back there during a drive ;)

What do a group of food bloggers do after a delicious lunch? Go to Whole Foods and get some fresh juice, of course!

It was so much fun to meet some of my favorite bloggers in person!
The next day was finally race day, so we were up bright and early (3:15 am!) to head over to the starting line. Unfortunately, my plans to meet up with somebody to cheer completely fell through last minute. But I decided to make the best of the situation, and headed over to mile 4 to cheer everybody on!

I saw Kelly and Leslie (both of whom PR’ed, I believe):

As well as Ashley, who I just missed getting a picture of, but is the pink shirt in the far left side (sorry, Ashley, I tried!):

And my original running buddies: Kelley, Jen, Amanda, Katie and Katie:

Even though I didn’t get to run, and didn’t have anyone to cheer with, I still had a lot of fun that morning! It was fun looking for all my friends. There were so many runners dressed up as Disney Princesses, including some guys dressed up as princesses, princes, or frogs! I was actually cheering next to another “Injured Princess,” so it was nice to know I wasn’t alone in having to sit this one out.
How do you make the best of a bad situation?

Some of my favourite bloggers all in one place. I recognise some of those faces. Such a great meet up too. I bet you were all talking at once! :)
