We have officially decided on what we are doing for our honeymoon.
For the past year, we’ve been researching different options. A beach-heavy vacation was out because Dan isn’t a huge fan of the heat, and because we knew we wanted to do something more active than lay on a beach all day. Those vacations can be great, but we just weren’t feeling it for our honeymoon. We want to get out and explore whatever country we are in!
And what better way to see a country than to bike through it?
Yep, we will be spending a week biking through Italy for our honeymoon! We’re not leaving until a few months after the wedding so that I have time to train for the trip over the summer. We found a group trip that won’t be too challenging for me, but also isn’t too easy for Dan. As an added bonus, the trip is filled with good food, winery tours, and truffle hunting. Perfect for a foodie like me!
So, on September 30, 2010, we will be embarking on Ciclismo Classico’s Piedmont: Lando of Barolo and Truffles 8-day, 7-night tour.
Because it is our honeymoon, we have been upgraded to Deluxe rooms in all of the hotels! The picture above is the first hotel we’ll be in.
It is our dream trip. I don’t know how it could possibly be a better ‘fit’ for us.
Now we just have to wait 9 months to actually go…

My best vacation was in Argentina, I volunteered at a school for a few months. I loved having a schedule. If felt like I lived there!

That would be absolutely amazing. You’ll have to send the info, I’d love to look into it and save, save, save! We still haven’t set a date yet or saved enough for the wedding, but I think biking through Italy would be perfect. I hope you guys have a blast and can’t wait to hear about it!!

Italy is BEAUTIFUL! I went there about 2 years ago to visit my sister who was abroad and LOVED it. Have a wonderful time
