Meet Geoffrey. I’m not talking about the guy holding the yellow plastic phone. That would be my brother-in-law, Josh. No, Geoffrey is the yellow toy phone.
This old Toys ‘R Us toy has been a source of amusement for Dan and Josh for years. Pulling the cord on the phone returns crackly phrases such as “Hi, I’m Geoffrey!” and “Have you seen Baby G?” Oftentimes, Geoffrey gets stuck on the sing-song “Have a happy da-ay.” And sometimes, you hear “How old are you da-ay?” because the track skips over to “have a happy da-ay” at the end.

If this sounds like a ridiculous thing to be amused by, it is. But trust me, if YOU heard Geoffrey, the giraffe mascot of Toys ‘R Us, from a 20-some-year-old plastic phone, you’d find it funny, too.
This year, Dan thought of another new holiday tradition: he gave Geoffrey to Josh as a joke gift. He fully expects to find Geoffrey under the tree next year.

I have to say, watching the boys try to fix the phone was a great way to spend Christmas morning. I’ve never laughed so hard, but I still managed to capture some shots with my new lens.

Dan decided to use an extra mounting piece for our blinds as the new pull-tab.

Success!

Somehow, we also uncovered another phrase that we had never heard Geoffrey said until after we fixed him:
“See you later!”

That is dedication to save a toy! But it seems to cute to let die.
So how come we didn’t get to hear Geoffrey?? Hook up some sound, girlfriend! Looks like a delightful Xmas morning with the Grice brothers. XOXo
I agree with Aunt Susan! Add a sound bite to your post
If not of actual phone, a video of Dan doing the phone voice would be epic.
