Millions of Peaches…For Real

Ten points if you can tell me where that title came from.

Another five points if you manage to not get that song stuck in your head immediately.

Pie Bars

In the past week, I’ve had approximately 50 pounds of peaches go through my kitchen.  I’m really not kidding.

Ten pounds for baking and canning from the co-op last weekend.

Honeyed Peaches 2

And then I discovered that a nearby farm was offering a bushel of peaches for $24.  That’s around 40 pounds.

Granted, quite a few of them were bruised. No matter, I’m just turning them into jam!

So my goal for tonight?  Process the remaining 32 pounds currently chilling in my fridge.  Wish me luck.

HA! I love that song. They were playing it on the radio about 2 weeks ago, and then I realize it was during their Retro Lunch – and I immediately felt old. =/

That’s what I said! That, and the Verve Pipe’s “Freshmen” and Guster’s “Airport Song”…I was like “I listened to these in HS and college!” lol

1.) Chris owns that CD and still plays it occasionally.
2.) Jealous of all the peaches. So delicious!
