Our New Apartment!

Here it is, our new house!

IMG_3801Okay, we really only have the second floor, not the whole house.  This is where Dan will be moving in January in Ithaca, NY.  I’ll join him in June.

I love love love our new place!

IMG_3803IMG_3804Our lovely kitchen and back entrance.  The landlord just re-did the sink, counters and cabinets in most of the kitchen.  My one requirement for our new apartment was a nice, big kitchen… and that’s what we got!

IMG_3807Our future office & study.  Please note the bay window.  I have always wanted a bay window!  We plan to put cozy chairs in the window, and put our desks and bookshelves in this room.  If things work out like I hope, I will be working from home, and this office space will be perfect!

IMG_3808Moving from the office into the living room… (please excuse the ladders, paint cans, etc in these pictures.  Our landlord is touching everything up for us!)

IMG_3809This will be our living and dining room.  I love all the windows in our apartment!

IMG_3813The living/dining room has a huge porch off of it.  We plan on getting a little grill and a table and chairs to put out here.  We’ll be able to eat outside when the weather is nice!

IMG_3806Our bedroom.  This is on the other side of the office.

IMG_3805What Dan and I call the “half bedroom.”  It is too small to be a bedroom, and doesn’t have a closet.  We will probably put Dan’s cockatiels in here, and our bike rack.

Unpictured: the bathroom and the entryway, which is pretty sizable.

IMG_3814After signing our lease, we explored downtown Ithaca, and enjoyed a celebratory lunch.

IMG_3816So excited that we found our apartment!

IMG_3819I got the specialty flatbread with artichoke, peppers, pesto, and mozzarella.  And a side salad.

The location of our apartment is great, too.  We are only four blocks away from the co-op, which has the most amazing bulk foods section I have ever seen.  They don’t just have the usual rice, beans, and spices.  They also have nut butters, syrup, honey, oils, and pasta in bulk.  Love it!

So, what do you think of our new place?

Now, I just need to figure out what I’m going to do after I graduate.  I know what I want to do ideally, but the execution is a little risky.  Wish me luck!  I’ll share more details as I get them worked out.

Check back tomorrow for a post on figuring out what you want to do with your life!

haha I could use that post on figuring out what to do with your life. ;)

I love your new apt! So cute, and LOVE the bay window! We must be two peas in a pod, because I’ve often wanted a bay window myself. :)
