While I’m on my honeymoon in Italy, I have lined up some great guest posts for you. For the next week and a half, I will be posting 1 or 2 “Savvy Spotlights” a day, highlighting some of my readers and blog friends. You may see another fun post or two mixed in there as well.

I’ll start recapping our Italy trip when I return. Have a great week!
Q. Introduce yourself!
My name is Rebecca and I blog at www.roseyrebecca.com. I am a 23-year-old near college graduate who will be receiving a B.A. in journalism in December. I am also a freelance writer for a local newspaper. In the past, I written about vegetarian-friendly eats in the area, and other food-related stories. Oh, and I’m a vegetarian! On my blog, I talk about everything from healthy eats to life stories.
Q. Savvy Eats approaches the concept of healthy living from the standpoint of “Smart Food, Smart Fitness, & Smart Life.” What does ‘savvy living’ mean to you?
To me, ‘savvy living’ means not depriving yourself. Like many other healthy-living bloggers, I live by the mantra, ‘everything in moderation.’ As long as you live an active, healthy life, a big ol cookie here or there is not going to make a difference. I try to focus on living a balanced, meaningful life complete with doing the things I enjoy, eating the foods I love, and exercising on a regular basis.
Smart Food Q. What is the most creative dish you’ve made to date?
This is a hard one. I’m always throwing together random ingredients. I’d have to say the fruit and goat cheese wrap that I made in July. It contained peaches, strawberries, blueberries, romaine, goat cheese, and a tsp. of Annie’s Raspberry Vinaigrette. http://www.roseyrebecca.com/2010/07/11/if-you-know-what-im-sayin/
Smart Fitness Q. How do you get motivated for a hard workout?
Honestly? Reading blogs. If I read about a blogger going out on a ten mile run, I suddenly want to go out on one, too. I don’t think I ever would have tried body pump or hot yoga classes if I didn’t read rave-reviews about them on other blogs.
Smart Life Q. How did you discover the healthy living blogging community?
I was trying to lose weight in May 2009, and stumbled across The Runner’s Kitchen blog. From there, I found Healthy Tipping Point, Carrots N Cake, and Eat, Live, Run. I was hooked, and decided to start my own blog. Blogging has completely transformed my life. I am at the happiest and healthiest I’ve even been, and I have my blog to thank for that!
Q. Anything else you’d like to share?
I love hearing from new readers. I think one of the most important parts of blogging is interacting with readers, especially ones who don’t have blogs or twitter usernames. I always answer nice comments or questions in either the comment section or by e-mail. I love the blogging community, because I know that where ever I go, I will always have awesome, supportive friends.
