Menus-1Color “A Savvy Week” is a series of weekly dinner menus. By doing a little prep work on the weekend and using a menu focused on one main ingredient, you will be able to make a week’s worth of great meals without spending a lot of time in the kitchen or money on ingredients.

Savvy Weekly Menus

Row 1, Left to Right: Cilantro lime chicken. Veggie-packed lasagna bolognese. Vegan quinoa corn chowder.

The Menus:

Caramelized Onions Menu. Recipes include baked rigatoni, creamy Indian lentils (crockpot meal) and BBQ chicken enchiladas.

Pork Shoulder Menu. Recipes include wine-braised pork shoulder, pork ramen for two and a quinoa-vegetable salad.

Loaf of Bread Menu. Recipes include French toast sticks, the best grilled cheese sandwiches, and a crockpot soup.

A Pot of Rice Menu. Recipes include winter vegetable fried rice and bean burrito bowls.

A Pot of Beans Menu. Recipes include beans and pasta and bean burrito bowls or Cincinnati chili.

Chicken and Blood Oranges Menu. Recipes include chicken with mango tangerine glaze, fennel blood orange salad, and chocolate-dipped candied orange peels.

Tilapia and Pesto Menu. Recipes include tomato & feta tilapia, pesto & green bean quinoa and pesto pizza ‘quesadillas.’

Tilapia and Lime Mayonnaise Menu . Recipes include tilapia tacos with lime mayonnaise and cinnamon apple & walnut salad.

Chicken Menu, Take 2. Recipes include coconut curry chicken and tomato feta quinoa.

Eggs and Pasta Menu. Recipes include parsley and tomato pasta.

Italian Dinner Party Menu. Recipes include three kinds of crostini, tomato and parsley pasta, red wine steak, spinach prosciutto salad and Neopolitan ice cream cake.

Chicken and Orzo Menu.  Recipes include brickhouse chicken, chorizo and butternut squash risotto and orzo vegetable soup.

Ham and Winter Vegetables Menu. Recipes include slow-cooked ham in cider gravy, creamy Indian-spiced lentils, winter vegetable fried rice, and creamy potato & broccoli soup.

The Thanksgiving 2012 Menu. 

Comfort and Citrus Menu. Recipes include Moroccan braised lentils, winter vegetable hash, slow-cooker pulled pork, fennel and blood orange salad and roasted chicken with mango tangerine glaze.

Chicken and Chickpeas Menu. Recipes include rosemary skewered pistachio-encrusted chicken (from Bellalimento), chana masala (from Smitten Kitchen),  baked chicken and spinach flautas (from Healthy Delicious) and chickpea hummus burgers (from Daily Garnish).
