Scenes from the Weekend: 2.7.11.

Very few pictures taken this weekend. Whoops. But there is EXCITING NEWS at the end of this post!

Met new people via Meetup.

Watched the snow turn to rain, then to snow, then back to freezing rain. The roads were gross on Saturday.

Worked on my book proposal and caught up on some blog work.

Gave Max his first bath. Well, the first bath we’ve ever given him.

Watched the Super Bowl (cheering for the Packers, of course).

And the most exciting news of all…

Remember how we started house hunting last Saturday? We didn’t expect to find a house right away, but…

Last Sunday, we put an offer in on a house. A house we love. Built in 1890, it has the old Victorian style that we favor with lots of beautiful woodwork, but also has brand new windows, updated plumbing and electric, and new kitchen appliances.

I’m especially excited about the newly updated kitchen appliances. And about my soon-to-be office and crafting space. And about the huge fenced in yard, perfect for Savvy Garden 2011.

Okay, really, I’m excited about everything in the house.

Which is good, because last week our offer was accepted, and the house inspected really well on Friday.

Which means… the house is pretty much our’s! We should be closing and making the move at the end of March. Our lease goes through the end of April, so we’ll have plenty of time to make the move without feeling incredibly rushed.

Sometime in the next few weeks, we’ll be going back to the house to take measurements and pictures, so keep an eye out. And prepare for some moving, organizing and home-improvement project posts!

How did you spend your weekend?
