Clipless pedals is a good one. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost balance because my feet were clipped into the pedals and I couldn’t release them quickly enough. I’m referring to the clips that wrap around your feet and often are nearly impossible to release your feet unless you loosen them. I much prefer a pedal which allows easy foot release.
