Three Things This Afternoon:
Number One. This morning, I did something I haven’t done since I left Wisconsin: I went to a Pilates class.
Things I realized:
1. I really, really miss my old studio, PilateSpa in Madison.
2. I think I need to give this new studio another chance or two before I decide whether or not I like it and still want to keep going. This morning’s class was very different from what I’m used to.
3. Holy muscles. Clearly, my Pilates skills (and muscle tone) are a little rusty. I hurt. In a good way.
Number Two.
I think it is hilarious how Max looks like a completely different dog after a haircut.
As a poofball back in March:

Shortly after a haircut last month:

Number Three. And lest you think I forgot, the winner of my blogiversary giveaway has been announced! Click over to see if it is you!

Hee Hee love the pup haircut
It just goes to show – hair does indeed make a difference!
Oh! I can’t wait to meet Max!
I hope the Pilates class goes better the second time around. I know how much you loved it in Madtown.
I’m just getting back into soccer (after a two year dry spell). Let me tell you… I can totally relate to the ‘holy muscles’. You think that if you run often you’re in shape but that’s not what my legs tell me during a game. Haha. It’s really fun to get back to something we love.
Was it really a full two years ago when we had a SWE soccer team? That’s crazy!
My parents’ dog is the same way – if they get her shaved, it’s like she lost half of herself!
The first time we gave him a hair cut, I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and freaked out because I thought the dog was sitting in the garbage can…that’s how much fur there was!
Hi Julie
How can I tell if a Pilates session is good or not? What exactly do you miss about PilatesSpa? I have NEVER tried and I would like to. There is not too much choice in the city and country I am living in now. Thanks!
Martha
It is really just a personal preference. I loved the personality of my old instructor and the way she taught/the tips and cues she gave.
But, if you’ve never taken Pilates before, I strongly recommend looking for a beginner’s “welcome to Pilates” class where they really focus on getting the correct form. The first time I ever did Pilates, my back and neck were killing me because I took a big group class at the gym and had no idea what I was doing.
When I started at PilateSpa, it was required to take a 5-week intro class that they limited to less than a dozen people so that they could really work on perfecting your form and helping you understand your body and alignment. I highly recommend looking for something like that where the instructor will really be able to focus on you and help guide you at first!
