Two years ago today, I wrote my very first post on Savvy Eats. Two whole years. Has it really only been that long?
Two years =
One wedding
+ one move from Wisconsin to New York
+ one puppy adoption
+ one move from apartment to house
+ over 200 jars of preserves
+ 23 Brain Food 101 posts (I honestly thought there’d be more…need to get on that!)
+ forty-four Little Things posts (and lots of reader submissions)
Especially these ten most-visited recipe posts:

10. Clementine Pound Cake. I am especially proud of this recipe. It will be in the second edition of the Food52 cookbook next fall!
9. Clementine Cutie Brownies. So far, this list is making me crave clementines. Too bad they won’t be in season for another 3 1/2 months. But it’s okay, I can wait…no need to rush to winter!
8. Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzels. Confession: I haven’t made soft pretzels since Soft Pretzel Week back in March. I think I burned out on them a little that week. Between testing pretzel recipes, dip recipes, and figuring out the best way to freeze them, I made a heck of a lot of pretzels!
7. Cookie Dough Pancakes. Maybe I should make these for breakfast today to celebrate the blogiversary?

6. Blueberry Pie Bars. This dessert makes me wish blueberries were in season constantly.
5. Homemade Soft Pretzels. We haven’t had TV since we moved into our house this spring, but are reactivating it so Dan can watch the baseball playoffs. Maybe I’ll have to make these to eat during a Milwaukee Brewers game. Or a Badgers game, if one ever miraculously shows up on one of our limited channels.
4. Breakfast Quinoa Balls. This one is from way back in January 2010. They were one of our car snacks when we were moving Dan to Ithaca. Even if they were a little crumbly.
3. Whole Wheat Chocolate Chai Muffins. Oh chai. How I love thee.

2. Coffee Shop Pumpkin Syrup. I can tell that it is almost fall by all the searches that have led to this recipe in the past week. Here come pumpkin (chai) lattes!
1. Falafel Burgers. What can I say? They are a terrific vegetarian burger option.
And to celebrate my blogiversary (and the holiday weekend), I have a little giveaway for you!
One Savvy Reader will receive:
- One batch of Savvy Scones, in your choice of flavor
- One jar of Smoky Popcorn Seasoning + popcorn.
- And a few more little surprises!
To enter the giveaway, leave a comment telling me what you want to see more of (or less of) on Savvy Eats.
And for a second entry, leave another comment linking me to your favorite Savvy Eats recipe.
I’ll choose a winner on Friday!
* This giveaway is now closed. The winner is Comment 42… *
I love all your posts, but especially your recipe posts! You make the most delicious food, Julie! Happy Blogiversary!

I love all your posts about the best way to store food and would love to keeping learning about that!
I want to continue to keep seeing more recipes! I always love good recipes.
My favorite recipe would have to be your cookie dough pancakes. Perfect combo!! I definitely think you should make these breakfast this morning!
More chai – always more chai!! Oh, and more pumpkin
One of the reasons I’ve been following your blog for so long is because you love the flavors that I love! The other reason is I love your attitude – always happy and oh-so grateful for the blessings life has given you!
Hi- I’d love to see more seasonal recipes! Like the blueberry pie bars in Summer- pumpkin or squash recipes in the Fall, etc. It keeps me inspired to use what is fresh and in season! Thanks and happy blogiversary! Can’t wait to read another year of great posts and recipes!
And now for favorite recipe on the site… it’s a tie between this:
http://www.savvyeat.com/split-pea-soup/ (gotta love anything that you can just throw together in a slow cooker!)
and this:
http://www.savvyeat.com/chai-infused-pumpkin-soup/ (best flavors ever!)
Congratulations on two years, Julie!
I find all of your Brain Food posts really, REALLY interesting! I love those…you’ve taught me how to best store my muffins.
I would love to see more Brain Food posts, they are really interesting and something that I wouldn’t have the time and patience to sit down and do myself!
As for my favorite Savvy recipe, I’m tempted to say scones because I’ve eaten them and LOVE them. But what I’d really like to do is hire you to come over for a week and cook up each and every one of those 10 recipes you have above there. Especially the blueberry pie bars and the cookie dough pancakes. Ohhh my!
As for a favorite recipe…..it is a close call between the applesauce spice bread http://www.savvyeat.com/applesauce-spice-bread/ and the double chocolate quick bread that you just recently posted
i love the brain food posts too, and in general just hearing about your life! best wishes for another great 2 years!
I’d love to see more dinner or main course dishes (especially for 2!)

Happy blogging anniversary! I love your brain food 101. I share them with my non-blogger, non-reader friends who love cooking.
I love your brain food posts since I’m a nerd who loves the science behind cooking and baking, and thus the baking background. However, I also love your tips on preserving and storing food because while I don’t have a lot of storage space (hello NYC apartment), I do like saving things when I can.
PS: I love your blueberry pie bars (http://www.savvyeat.com/blueberry-pie-bars/) and your homemade “nutella” (http://www.savvyeat.com/perfection-achieved/)! Obviously both desserts, but I wouldn’t have it any other way
Congrats on two years! I enjoy all of the recipes, but it would be fun to see a bit more of your daily life.
I like the Chocolate Peppermint Crunch cookies!
http://www.savvyeat.com/chocolate-peppermint-crunch-cookies/
Congratulations on your blog anniversary!
Yay congrats! I’d love to see more “Little Things” posts!
happy blogaversary!! I love all your recipe posts, but really dig on the jams, seasonings – the stuff you don’t always see on other blogs. I also agree with Holly: the little things are awesome as well. Keep up the fab work lady!
Congrats on two years! As a fellow nerd and engineer I love the Brain Food 101 posts. I was reading a cookbook I forgot I had this morning called Cookwise by Shirley Corriher. Its Alton Brown… in a cookbook. Its so interesting and I definitely think you would enjoy it.
I’d love to see more of your simple, wonderful recipes! I’ve made your scones 2 or 3 times and always love how they turn out. Happy 2nd birthday, Savvy Eats!
congrats on 2 years of blogging fun!
i would love to see more of your home improvement projects! i know they take time and they’re not the main focus of your blog, so i totally get that they don’t ‘ happen that often, but i love reading them & getting great ideas from you!
keep up the little things and amazing recipes too, though!
it’s so hard to choose a FAVORITE savvy eats recipe, but one that i have had bookmarked for far too long and can’t wait to make is the garlic herb soft pretzels (http://www.savvyeat.com/garlic-herb-soft-pretzels-step-by-step/). they sound amazing and they’re definitely high on my list of things to make!
Great giveaway! I would love to see more pictures on the blog
I love the roasted blueberry scone recipe! http://www.savvyeat.com/roasted-blueberry-scones/

I can never get enough of your recipes. If you ever decide to post more of those I’d be a happy camper. I also enjoy your little things posts. They are fun and a good reminder.
I love all your posts, but especially your recipe posts! You make the most delicious food, Julie! Happy Blogiversary!
My absolute favorite recipe of yours is the pumpkin coffee syrup!! I’m planning on making some this week.
http://www.savvyeat.com/coffee-shop-pumpkin-syrup/
I love the little thigs posts – they are usually my little thing that makes me smile so I’d like more of those
one of my favorite recipes is
http://www.savvyeat.com/chickpea-and-carrot-crockpot-soup/
Keep the brain food posts coming! So helpful and interesting!
Although I am a relatively new reader and haven’t read ALL of your posts…I like this one: http://www.savvyeat.com/fitting-in-fitness/. I LOVE it when people take the excuse of “no time” away for those people who use it to justify not working out. There is ALWAYS time! (We just tend to not use it or make ourselves feel better by saying there isn’t.)
I think the 200 jars of preserves is the most impressive!! Hmm, I want more brain food posts, I love that stuff
Your recipe posts are AWESOME! I’d always welcome more
Speaking of which, this baby is going to become my new favorite
http://www.savvyeat.com/cookie-dough-pancakes/
Hey Julie! Happy blogiversary! I adore your blog, and my favorite posts are your Brain Food 101 posts, as well as some of your simple, throw-together dinner recipe posts. I’m dying to make homemade soft pretzels, so this link to your recipe came in the nick of time. I think I’ll make them for when hubby and I watch the Brewers in the playoffs, too.
Yeah for 2 years, amazing how much things can change! More life, I love knowing what is going on
And more book reviews.
I love your recipes!

id love to see more of them
I want to see more about eating that can help fuel endurance sports!
And my fav recipe is almond oat pancakes! I didn’t have whole almonds on hand so i subbed some almond meal for the flour. they were delish
hm….maybe more home project posts
Oh goodness so many recipes to try now! …Especially the pumpkin syrup! HEAVEN!
I’d love to see more of your home projects. You’d done some really creative things that I’ve enjoyed reading about.
I’d also like to hear more about your thyroid issues and how you deal with them. It is such a common problem and I think we can all learn from your experiences.
Congrats on two years!
More “comfort food” recipes maybe?? As fall is quickly approaching, comfort food is essential for me! The crockpot is also one of my favorite cooking tools – in other words, I’m not the best cook! I’d love to see some new crockpot recipes!
Love the brain food posts. I would love to hear more about your day to day goings-on. Congratulations on two years!
I just found your site and I love it! I think it’s great just the way it is but if I could ask for something more I guess it would be more lowfat/lo-cal recipes. But honestly, this site is awesome and I’m going to add it to my favorite links on my own humble and very amateur website!
Thanks for a bunch of really great info and recipes!
