The Little Things #18

So often, we get caught up in our day to day routines and forget to appreciate the little things in life.  In my Little Things series, I like to honor the details that are making me happy today, and ask you to do the same!

This to-do list:

and this packing situation:

have made me a wee bit anxious today. And you know what that means… time for another Little Things post!

The little things making me happy today are…

1. Our new lamp, which makes it considerably easier to get work done on a rainy day like today.

2. Thanks to Heather’s tip to sketch out my outfits, this is the lightest I’ve ever packed.

And by ‘light,’ I mean in terms of the amount of clothes, etc I am bringing along. Weight-wise, the bag of bike shoes, pedals and helmets more than makes up for the clothes I didn’t pack.

3. The Food & Wine Blogger Correspondent program I’m doing means I need to preschedule quite a few recipe posts for while I’m gone. I made several travel-friendly recipes so we’ll have some delicious, healthy snacks on the plane.

4. I am well-hydrated. I’ve been drinking SO MUCH water today, and I know I’ll be happy I did when we’re on planes and trains for 19 hours starting tomorrow!
5. I have gotten so many great reader submissions for the new Little Things page already. Keep ‘em coming!
What little things are making you happy today?

You, too, can be a part of “The Little Things: Reader Submissions” page! Send me a photo of one of the “little things” making you happy today, along with a short note. You do NOT have to be a blogger to take part, but if you have a blog, I will link back to you. Send your submissions to savvyjulie@gmail.com, with “The Little Things” as the subject line!
