Too often, we get caught up in our day to day routines and forget to appreciate the little things in life. In my Little Things series, I like to honor the details that are making me happy today, and ask you to do the same!
The Little Thing making me happy today is…
I can cross one of my 101 in 1001 items off my list: “hunt for vintage Pyrex in Corning, NY.” I thought I might find a bit more vintage Pyrex there because that’s where it originated, but I didn’t expect to find that much of it. It was everywhere in every single antique store we visited.
I finally chose this little Pyrex bowl, obtained at an antiques store in Corning this weekend. This pattern, called “Friendship,” is by far my favorite Pyrex pattern (other than the solid primary colors), and I managed to snag this bowl for a mere $7. Woot!
What Little Things are making you happy today? Have you crossed any goals off your list recently?
You can be a part of “The Little Things: Reader Submissions”page! Send me a photo of one of the “little things” making you happy today, along with a short note. That pattern is SO incredibly cute. Also, I’m very impressed that you only picked out one piece!
I adore Pyrex!
Me too. Come visit sometime, and we’ll take a mini road trip to Corning!
Such a cute bowl! Pyrex always reminds me of my grandmother – she had a huge collection.
I’m thankful that the rain held off while I was running – it started right as I got back!
Nice timing!
My grandma had the set of primary color bowls, which is probably why I love them so much!
I want those white bowls with the blue design. So pretty!
SO cute!!
What a fun goal! The bowl is adorable, I’ve never seen the pattern. Makes me want to take a trip to Corning
Little thing making me happy today – looking forward to dinner plans with a new friend tonight. I feel so lucky for all the special people in my life!
Hooray for new friends!
And if you ever do go to Corning, let me know…I’d be happy to go there again!
amazing amazing find! i don’t know how you escaped with only one bowl though – and at such great prices!!
It took a lot of thought and contemplation!
Congrats on being a new Mrs, as well
Oh wow I have to say this bowl looks amazing. It’s funny how I thought I was the only one who found more “traditional” objects so appealing. While looking through my grandmother’s stuff I found an old Le Creuset and everytime I make a stew in it, I feel like she is with us again celebrating the meal. Anyhoo, your bowl looks groovy!
LOVE Le Creuset as well. Just not in my budget, sadly!
OMG I know it’s so expensive!!! Thank God I found my grandmother’s one!! I saw some at the store the other day and was shocked at the price.
1) I love love love that
2) There is not enough vintage pyrex in my life
3) I am “pinning” one of these photos
4) a trip to Corning has been added to my to do list
Thank you!
