The Little Things #55

Too often, we get caught up in our day to day routines and forget to appreciate the little things in life.  In myLittle Things series, I like to honor the details that are making me happy today, and ask you to do the same!

The Little Thing making me happy today is…

Mail.  Real mail.  Letters and postcards and little hand-written notes.  A piece of real mail never fails to make me smile.

You know who’s really good at sending real mail?  Heather.

Heather sends the BEST mail.  Some mail is funny and light-hearted.  Other pieces of mail are encouraging and inspiring (somehow, these always come on the days I need them most).  I put together a little book of all my mail from Heather and other friends to flip through when I’m feeling down or lonely.

    this post makes me happy in my heart!!

    i am playing a little game of I-Spy here in these photos, trying to remember all the things i have sent you over the years [years!!!] of our friendship….

    I spy….
    a Hallmark “Out of the Blue” card – my favorite line they ever carried!…
    note cards [shocking!]…
    recycled wedding invitation….
    a card from a set gifted to me by my former boss, RGA, purchased at a gift shop in Cape Cod…
    cards about tea…
    the one and only holiday greeting i sent this year…

    also – id like a margarita, please.
    [next time you are visiting, we are going to Bombers for margaritas, not food. though i wouldnt mind some sweet potato fries, too ;) ]
