So often, we get caught up in our day to day routines and forget to appreciate the little things in life.  In my Little Things series, I like to honor the details that are making me happy today. Now, I ask my readers to send me a photo and note about what is making THEM happy today.

Heather says,

Today is one of THOSE days.
A terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-day.
A day where I am overwhelmed, anxious and liable to break into tears at any given moment.

Today I am fearful.  I am sad.  I am angry. And I want my Mommy.

Today I would much rather hide under a blanket than face the world.
I’m searching for a time machine in order to erase the past and start anew, but it’s nowhere to be found.

After the last tear falls, I suck it up.
I sit tall, and wipe my cheeks, hoping that my co-workers don’t notice the tear stains on the pages I’m pretending to work on.
I know the only way to face this terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-day is simple.
I know I need to take a breath. Take a step back. Take a moment to regain my focus and my strength.

It’s the little things that get me through.
Today I’m allowing this coconut chai tea to speak to my soul.

To help me be.  To steep in my heart. To fully warm my day.
Today I’m imagining myself swimming in this mug.
Submerged in the tasty ocean of calm. Backstroking my way around the round of the ceramic pool walls.
As if nothing can come against me in this moment as I dive deeper into the amber.

You, too, can be a part of “The Little Things: Reader Submissions” page! Send me a photo of one of the “little things” making you happy today, along with a short note. You do NOT have to be a blogger to take part, but if you have a blog, I will link back to you. Send your submissions tosavvyjulie@gmail.com, with “The Little Things” as the subject line!
