So often, we get caught up in our day to day routines and forget to appreciate the little things in life.  In my Little Things series, I like to honor the details that are making me happy today. Now, I ask my readers to send me a photo and note about what is making THEM happy today.

Tricia says,

“For me, eating “right” is an ongoing daily battle. I struggle with what I know I should eat and what my body is used to eating. It seems more often than not, I fail. But I keep dusting myself off and trying again!

This morning marked the first day of my attempt to eat a piece of fruit before I stick anything else in my mouth. Easy, right? I actually sat at my desk, scared of an apple. I was convinced I wouldn’t like it (as if I haven’t ever had an apple before!) or that I’d be hungry 2 minutes later.

But I dutifully cut it up, spread a bit of peanut butter on each slice and *gasp* I actually enjoyed my light breakfast. Not only that, but it kept me satisfied until almost lunchtime.
A plate of apples made me smile today. Go figure.

I blogged about the full “traumatic” experience of trying to eat the apple here.

You, too, can be a part of “The Little Things: Reader Submissions” page! Send me a photo of one of the “little things” making you happy today, along with a short note. You do NOT have to be a blogger to take part, but if you have a blog, I will link back to you. Send your submissions to savvyjulie@gmail.com, with “The Little Things” as the subject line!
