Since we don’t have TV since moving to the house, I have been tearing through books even faster than usual. My most recent three reads, in the order that I’d recommend them:
Kristin Chenoweth, A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages. Four out of five stars.
I love Kristin Chenoweth and the fact that her personality and voice comes through loud and clear. And I learned all kinds of new things about her, like the fact that she passed up the role of Annabeth Schott on West Wing in order to be Galinda/Glinda in Wicked. My only issue with the book was keeping track of the timeline, which made me give it 4 stars instead of 5.
Scarlett Thomas, Our Tragic Universe. Three out of five stars.
I’ve enjoyed all of Scarlett Thomas’s previous books, so I was excited to finally find this one at the library. I love that on one page, the characters talk about Tolstoy and Chekhov, and on the next, quarks and quantum mechanics. This one wasn’t as good as PopCo or The End of Mr Y, but I’d still recommend it to my fellow nerds.

Melissa Gilbert, Prairie Tale: A memoir. Three out of five stars.
Let’s face it: I read this book because I LOVED Little House on the Prairie when I was little. My dad used to read the books to me every night, and my mom and I would watch the show together. So I was excited to read this memoir. It was enjoyable, especially the parts about Little House. The only thing I didn’t like? It felt like there was a lot of unnecessary name-dropping. Still an interesting book to read, though.
I’m quickly running out of books to read. What would you recommend I read next??

Hey Julie! Have you read The Help?? It is an amazing book, you should definitely check it out if you haven’t yet. Also, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series is also great if you haven’t read those yet!
I’ve read the Help (liked it), but not the Dragon Tattoo series. I need to, though!
Homer’s Odyssey: a Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned About Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat
by Gwen Cooper
Have you read the girl with the dragon tattoo series? I just finished the final book in the trilogy last night. So awesome. It takes a while to get into it but it is so worth it!
No, because I’ve heard it takes awhile to get into. But you’re the second person in 5 comments to recommend them, so I’ll check them out!
I just read Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult- not my favorite of her books, but it was a good, enjoyable, and relaxing read. Makes you think too, which is always good!
I loved that one! But yes, it was different from most of her books!
I loved A Little Bit Wicked as well but she did jump around a lot with stories. I ended up googling her for a more concrete timeline.
Hi Julie! I can’t wait to read A Little Bit Wicked – I think she’s pretty amazing.
I definitely recommend The Secret of Everything, Stay by Allie Larkin and anything by Luanne Rice. They are all great books that I literally flew through because I couldn’t put them down.
Have fun!
Thanks for the recommendations!
