We had both the rooftop restaurant and rooftop itself reserved for our reception. However, it was so hot out that most people decided to stay in the restaurant. It made it a little more crowded than we had originally planned, but I think everyone still had fun!
I know that they at least all ate well…the food was FANTASTIC!

Since our sound system was outside and most people were inside, we brought the speaker in ourself. Working together to solve problems just hours after the ceremony!
Kelley’s speech made me both laugh and cry.

Josh’s Best Man speech was sweet and thoughtful.

We fed each other Cookie Dough Egg Rolls, then invited our guests to enjoy some as well. Best wedding dessert ever, in my opinion!

More singing ensued.

Instead of clinking glasses, people had to come up and tell a story about one or both of us to get us to kiss. We apparently had very shy guests and didn’t get many stories, though!

Since there wasn’t any dancing going on, we put out board and card games for people to play.

All in all, I think everyone had fun at our low-key reception. At least I hope they did!

I have one more wedding recap coming your way tomorrow… the wedding party + family pictures!

So pretty Julie!! I love your dress, you look gorgeous!
Cookie dough egg rolls?? I’m so totally intrigued! I’ve never heard of such a thing?
It looks like you guys had such a fabulous time, I’m loving all the pics!
Thank you! The egg rolls are a specialty of one of our favorite restaurants in Madison, Bluephies. One of the very first decisions we made during our wedding planning was that we wanted the egg rolls instead of cake
Great pictures
I’m glad you liked my speech babe.
Umm, can we go get some cookie dough egg rolls now? haha
Ha, we just said last night: “Next time we visit Milwaukee, we need to take a day trip down to Madison… so we can see campus/the new union + go to Bluephies and Greenbush”
Aww, I love, love, love your wedding! So cute! I love that you wore a short dress too, that’s what I’m planning on doing.
Umm…the board games idea is incredible!! My family doesn’t dance either. But boy do they love dominoes and rumicube and silly games like that. What an amazing idea, Julie!
