Win a Case of Chobani!

by Julie @savvyeats on January 20, 2010

A few weeks ago, Chobani was kind enough to send me a sample of each of their new flavors.

IMG_1247.JPG

I received a container of non-fat Raspberry and a container of low-fat Strawberry Banana.

Both flavors have that smooth Chobani texture and taste that we all know and love!

IMG_1246.JPG

I have been hoping for a raspberry Greek yogurt for ages, as my two favorite fruits in yogurt are raspberries and strawberries. Chobani came through! The Raspberry Chobani was sweet and fruity, and may be my new favorite Chobani flavor!

IMG_1245.JPG

I don’t typically like Strawberry Banana yogurts because the combination can be too sweet and intense. However, the tartness of the Greek yogurt toned it down a bit, and I loved it!

Chobani has also been kind enough to offer one Savvy Eats reader a multi-flavor case of yogurt!

To enter, visit Chobani’s website and check out the great charities they support! By 6 pm (Central Time) on Sunday, January 24, tell me which charity is your favorite, and why. I will pick my favorite answer on Monday!

Sorry, open to U.S. residents only!

the farm to school program is such a brilliant idea! i’m so horrified by the foods served in school cafeterias (at least when i was there). connecting schools with local farmers is a perfect way to keep the farmers in business and give children healthy local food to enjoy at school. LOVE IT.

I think my favorite charity would have to be Swim Across America. I lost my mom to cervical cancer about two years ago, and 2 other members of my family are survivors of other types of cancer. Because of this, anyone who works to find a cure is on my good list :) I think it’s also an innovative way to raise money-it’s not just a 5K or a bake sale but something a little more out of the box. Awesome!

Team Hoyt! I’ve seen them do many races, and I find them so inspiring!

I’m going to have to go with BEF (the Boomer Esiason Foundation) since he’s helping the fight to find a cure for cystic fibrosis – a very unknown and misunderstood disease from which I suffer.

Thanks for this giveaway!

oh boy!! I go through yogurt like water so this would be awesome :) I didn’t know they supported so many organizations that’s awesome. I’m a big fan of Livestrong since my grandpa has had 4 different types of cancer, but thankfully is still going strong. Cancer is just such a devastating and heart wrenching occurrence and I hope they can find a cure soon :)

I eat greek yogurt every day! I’ve also tried the new strawberry banana and raspberry flavors and I must say.. they’re AWESOME!

My favorite charity there would have to be Doctors Without Borders. I go to a college with a HUGE medical program (Johns Hopkins!) and I like to think that with all the doctors my school produces, they could go on a mission with DWB to help out AND do what they love!

I LOVE greek yogurt, but my wallet however, does not :( My favorite charity they have is Farm to School. My aunt is really involved with it, so I am very familiar with the great successes of it! I think it is SO IMPORTANT that we change the way the youth eats NOW! If drastic measures are not taken to improve the nutrition of our children today, the severity of nutrition-related diseases will continue to sky rocket :( We need to feed our children REAL food!!!

Livestrong! I have always been a huge fan of Lance Armstrong and have followed the foundation for years, especially since my dad is a biker and had cancer.

I really like the Energy Up! program. I think that sometimes the overall focus tends to be on children’s health, but there are many teens that could use support in their development, both mentally and physically. What an awesome organization!

Livestrong! My dad had cancer about 10 years ago. It was hard for us, but he overcame it. I can’t imagaine how it hard it is for families who have lost people to it.

I had no idea that Chobani was so generous & helped so many different charities. I really like the Action for Kids! program. It’s very important to teach children healthy lifestyles now while they are still so impressionable, it will help for such a greater tomorrow!

I love that they support action for healthy kids because I was overweight as a child and would have been better off with Chobani

It’s simply impossible for me to narrow down to just one. I love the fact that Chobani also supports so many of the same charities that are near and dear to my own heart. My favorites are Farm to School because I grew up on a farm and think it’s a wonderful way to bring some of that to kids who don’t so that they understand where food comes from; Team Hoyt because how can one NOT be inspired seeing the lengths a father goes to for his son; Livestrong because I have several loved ones who have been touched by cancer; and MSF/Doctors Without Borders for the amazingly selfless gift of healing they give to those around the world.

I’m a fan of the action for healthy kids!! Childhood obesity is such a huge problem, it’s good to give it all the attention it deserves!

First, a couple of house keeping items.

1. I have been stalking your site for a while now, and have to tell you I love it. Your workouts/eating habits are inspiring, and I enjoy reading your blog.

2. I looooooove Greek yogurt, especially Chobani. It tends to be on the expensive side, so I don’t always get to eat it as much as I’d like, but when it goes on sale, you better believe I stock up :o )

Now, my favorite charity would have to be Livestrong. Lance Armstrong is such an inspiration, and I give him a lot of credit for everything he has achieved in his life. My brother was diagnosed with colon cancer when he was 25 (yes, he was young – and it was a life altering experience for him, but he is doing well today, six years later), so as a result my sister and I must go through routine checks every three years to be sure we have not developed the disease as well. Any foundation that rises money to help develop cures for cancer rates top in my book :o )

I love how much charity work they do, especially with Care and women in poverty.

I chose Livestrong. Cancer is an ugly disease that if it doesn’t take your life, it scars you in some ways because there is always a fear of it returning. Lance Armstrong chose to make his cancer public so others will know that they are not alone. He is always out there showing us that yes you can survive cancer and go on with your life. Not all people survive, my brother died 3 years ago from colon cancer. He fought hard and tried everything he could to fight this terrible disease. Unfortunately he waited to long to go to the doctors. He may not be here today but his memory will live on. Because of Lance’s foundation others have someone behind them and supporting them. They are not alone!

Those new flavors sound soo good!

But I choose Livestrong, I’ve had too many friends and family members that have been affected by cancer.

Doctors without Borders, definitely!

(Modestneeds.org) Modest Needs is my favorite charity that Chobani Yogurt supports! The main reason that I love this organization is because I was part of a low income family that struggled to stay off of welfare and keep our heads above water so to speak. I know how difficult it is when you have to choose between paying the heating bill or buying food to eat. This is an awesome organization and I am grateful to all of the wonderful people who help make it work!

Definitely the farm to school program. Kids seriously need to learn to eat better, and appreciate real food. It’s not just for their physical health…it’s all tied into their mental health, and their futures, and AMerica’s future, too.

I love that Chobani donates $$ to charity and currently I can’t think of a better one to support than Doctors without Borders. They currently have doctors in Haiti treating the victims of the earthquake.

I love Chobani’s support of the foundation ModestNeeds.Org, that is a group that is attempting to prevent poverty in economic groups that are known to have been living in poverty for years. I personally have done mission trips to mexico and new mexico and have seen how a little help from those that care could help prevent kids from being kept in poverty!!

Hi! I’m a new reader!

I support the Farms to Schools program. Our kids are getting filled with JUNK at school and I’d like to support any and all efforts to change that.

I Love Chobani!!!

I like the Farms to Schools program because it is SO important to provide good, healthy, local, and tasty food to kids in school, as they are bombarded with unhealthy junk food in cafeterias. Chobani is awesome, not only for their yogurt (obviously haha), but also because they support programs like this.

Sorry I missed this great challenge! I recently signed up to work at the Red Cross. I think the Red Cross is a great charity because it is right in your hometown. They have their people in place so fast in so many areas! Plus, they have been around for a very long time!.
I am anxious to get my background check back so I can start volunteering at my local chapter of the red Cross!
Blessings,
wildflowerr
