My book arrived last Thursday, but I forced myself to get some work done and wait to read it until I was tucked into my seat on my flight from Syracuse to JFK yesterday (don’t you love when the first leg of your flight takes you in the direction opposite of your destination?). … Most importantly, Carrots ‘n’ Cake reminded me that it isn’t just me… everyone falls off the ‘healthy living wagon’ now and again, but the important thing is to make a positive change for yourself and jump right back on.

Review: New World Bistro Bar

February 15, 2011
AlbanyWeekend11.jpg

Atmosphere: 8.5/10. The style and decoration were beautiful and a bit rustic. The only downside was the noise level, which made it difficult to talk to people further down the table. However, this can probably be attributed to the fact that we were seated near the bar…and the fact that we had one very long table!

Service: 10/10. We had one of the most helpful, charistmatic servers I’ve ever encountered. He made sure that everyone’s needs were met, especially when it came to dietary preferences and allergies. Pretty impressive, considering we had a group of 14!

Food: 9/10. The salad was flavorful, but there was a little too much dressing…the leaves at the bottom of the plate were drowning a bit. But everything else was top-notch. I’d definitely visit again. You know, if I didn’t live over 3 hours away.

Overall Rating: 9/10. A winner!

I also love Garlic Gold. Like I said, I love garlic. I like the convenience of the products. And I love supporting small companies.

That being said, if you don’t have Garlic Gold, there are some substitutions you can make, as noted below.

Standard Mobile Gym Package.jpeg

In true Savvy Eats fashion, I have broken it down into a pros and cons list.

Workout Review: Yogalosophy

Part yoga, part strength training, this DVD is not what I expected. That’s not such a bad thing. The workout is still challenging and leaves me feeling strong.
